LOL I wondered what would have happened if Storage Wars had found that unit!

A few years ago when an aunt of mine died, some other family members had the funeral home prepare her body and then they transported her themselves - in a body bag, in their minivan!!!! - to the town where the family was originally from, because she had wished to be buried there in the family plot. I kept picturing "Weekend at Bernie's" scenes in my head. Only my family.... ROFL It's a blog-worthy story, maybe I'll write it all out one day.

As a secret "Storage Wars" addict, I cannot help but wonder what would've happened had the unit been sold at auction and the casket buried under boxes of old VHS tapes and high school mementos... Then again, that probably would've caused a legal ruckus over who owned any jewelry contained inside it.

ha!! there was an elderly woman here who lived with her 80 yr old sister all her life,,,when the sister died she left her on the couch so she could talk with her everyday. she said she knew she was dead but would have missed her if she was buried.

When the story first hit the news Phil and I were like WHAT? No way! I mean at least cremate grandma, don't shove her in a storage unit, this is the woman who made you hot chocolate and tied your shoes;-)
We had a similar incident when my aunts ashes turned up "missing". We knew that her husband had them but didn't really know the location. So bizarre!

Instead of paying $ 5000 or so for an interment, it was better dropping $ 1200 a year for decades?

You are FUNNY! That reminds me of my father in laws remains. I'm not really sure where they are. Last I knew his wife (not my husbands mom and they were only married a few months before he passed of cancer:( Oh wait I should say he was cremated btw so he is in an urn. The first time they brought his wife the wrong ashes....how did she know? Wrong name on the bottom. We are not in contact with his wife for various reasons but I'm guessing he is still in her house.

I'm thinking that family could not afford a plot. That was pretty much the case of FIL. We know where he REALLY is anyway. :)
